June Favourites

What better way to start July than reflect on the month of June? it's strongly advised not to dwell on the past. However, perhaps this case is an exception.
June has been a relaxing month. However, recently the heat has become almost unbearable. If you don't live in Britain, anything above 20 degrees is foreign to us (Okay this may be a bit of an over exaggeration). So I've been looking for make-up that wouldn't melt off my face after 15 minutes.  From make-up to skincare and shoes, here you go!
Make-up:
Unfortunately, I was cursed with oily skin. So I'm constantly changing my foundations to see which one doesn't make my face look like a greasy frying pan. Of course, it's useful to have a good combination of foundation and powder. I, at last I have found them!

Revlon Colorstay 24 Hour Foundation: This foundation has a great range of colours and provides great coverage but most importantly it lasts the entire day. The only thing I dislike about this product is that there is no pump and so sometimes I end up taking out too much thus, wasting the product. Regardless, I will be re-purchasing this.
I combine this with the Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder: The pressed powder has actually been a long term favourite of mine. I've used this for months on end and it never fails to live up to the hype. It's does what the name says 'stay matte', I highly recommend it!

I do love a nude lipstick. It goes with anything and everything! The Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick in the shade barely nude (Cream) is my go to. It works with any type of make-up from natural to bold, the lipstick will compliment your entire look.

As well as a nude lipstick, I love the colour on my nails. Especially the French Connection Nail Polish, this actually came as part of a collection which you can find here. As you can see, I'm getting into nude colours this season; I don't want to dive into bold colours just yet. It came out a little browner than I thought. A bonus is that the product was strong, it didn't chip and lasted me a good week (I have very weak nails)

My brand new holy grail is the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar, ever since I got this I have been using it religiously! And YES IT SMELLS LIKE CHOCOLATE! The pigmentation is amazing, it always comes out so bold. It's definitely a positive aspect to the product but I would advise you to be careful with the shade 'liquorice', even a light dab goes a long way. It's a good mix of shades. I fear the day that I hit pan on any of the colours (especially mousse and peanut butter). I haven't used the pink or blue shades yet, I'm not very daring when it comes to my make-up. However, look out for a make-up look very soon.
Shoes and Accessories:
I know it's Summer now so what on earth am I still doing wearing Boots? As I previously mentioned it was only recently we were blessed with sun and heat so this has come in handy during the cold, wind and rain. This was purchased on sale at H&M so I'm not too sure if it's still available. It's so comfy and gives your height that little boost, I don't know about you but it's rare that I find comfort in any sort of heels.

A summer essential is sunglasses, these are my Missoni Sunglasses. I got bored of the same old black sunglasses (but still use them on a daily basis) and wanted to change it up. I fell in love with these - the pattern, shape and how it fit my face well (It actually fits my big head!) It's important to protect your eyes during the summer.
Skincare:
Good make-up wouldn't exist without a good skincare regime. It is the underlying layer that is the most important. If I haven't bored you enough about the importance of preventing my face from being an oily mess, then the Garnier Moisture Matte Moisturiser will certainly prove to be useful. I always use this during the day as it's not too heavy yet it still moisturises my face. It helps control the oiliness and it's cheap!

Nobody likes chapped lips, so a lip-balm that also gives your lips a pretty pink glow? This is what the Vaseline Rosy Lips is all about. It has lasted me a very long time, smells nice and if ever I don't feel like wearing lipstick I just apply this. It's small so I literally carry it with me everywhere.
I couldn't praise these products enough to make my life so much easier. There's nothing better than spending your money on useful products. I hope this was helpful!

Yours truly,
